چکیده
Introduction Oropharyngeal dysphagia is a clinical hallmark of idiopathic inflammatory myopathy (IIM). This study investigated predictors, outcome, and characteristics oropharyngeal in patients with different types IIM. Methods Flexible endoscopic evaluation swallowing (FEES) videos 71 IIM were retrospectively analyzed for bolus spillage, penetration, aspiration, pharyngeal residue. Based on these findings, severity was rated. Regression analyses performed to investigate demographic disease-specific predictors pneumonia as outcome-relevant complications dysphagia. A score developed rate the quality white-out surrogate marker muscle weakness consecutive Results Our analysis revealed no independent severity. Dysphagia severity, however, an predictor pneumonia, which occurred 24% patients. Pharyngeal residue risk postdeglutitive aspiration most common pattern. Attenuation related Discussion assessed FEES associated relevant complications, such must be considered independently peripheral disease duration. Swallowing impairment mainly presents The may serve semi-quantitative contractility.

This review summarizes the previous and current literature on the immunogenetics of idiopathic inflammatory myopathy (IIM) and updates the research progress that has been made over the past decade. A substantial part of the genetic risk for developing adult- and juvenile-onset IIM lies within the major histocompatibility complex (MHC), and a tight relationship exists between individual human le...
